Vacation Bible School Spills Over to Sunday in Green

image
VBS took place June 22–26. We invited the kids and their families to celebrate with us Sunday, June 29. We all experienced the joy and energy of the kids as we worshipped Jesus together. And it was great to meet new kids and their families! Thanks to the Green Campus congregation for remembering what it’s like to be a kid. Visit our VBS page for reports, pictures, and videos.

At CSS the week of June 22, Survivor Camp tested the stamina, courage, unity, and stomachs of our campers. The week of June 29, kids will experience favorite game shows at TV Camp!

Camp Carl

At Camp Carl June 24, the Lions' Den group did the slopsticle course, a messy challenge. At the end, they reached the slip-n-slide to become clean, a reminder that God cleans us from our messes.

High-School Missions Trips

Groups of students from ZeroAutomatic, our high-school ministry, returned Sunday, June 28, from exciting missions trips to Nashville, Cincinnati, Asheville, NC, and Quito, Ecuador. Check out their blogs and pictures to see how they made an impact for Christ!

Celebrate July 4 as The Chapel "Out There"

July 4 celebrations will be taking place throughout our communities and neighborhoods. We encourage everyone to join with neighbors and family in the festivities. We want to be the church "out there."

There will be no July 4 festival/carnival at the Akron Campus this year. Because of budgetary and ministry-strategy reasons, the festive community time will be moved to Labor Day weekend, which features the Labor of Love Run. Also included will be the second annual Fall Blitz, giving Chapel attendees an opportunity to consider the programs and ministries coming up for 2009–2010 (more information to come).
